Dharwad: National Highway Authority India (NHAI) has floated tenders to change the Bengaluru National Highway-4 bypass from Narendra Cross to Gabbur Cross into the stretch of six pathways and four path service roads.
Minister Prahlad Joshi that this project costs 1,200 crore Rs which includes Rs 800 Crore for road construction and RS 400 Crore for land acquisition, preparation for detailed project reports (DPR) and other costs.
Funds have been approved by the central government, he said.
Joshi said February 22 was the last date to submit a tender and set time to complete the work of changing double roads to six stretching and construction routes to two-way service roads on the road.
The bypass side is two and a half years.
Tender has floated based on engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and contractors must maintain the road for five years after the completion of work.
Only one toll square between Kelri and Narendra Cross will be maintained while all the other toll roads.
On the bypass will be deleted.
This will result in commuter between Hubballi and Dharwad, released from paying toll.

The 31-km stretch was built by Nandi Highway Developers Limited (NHDL) in the late 1990s and thrown into the public in 2000 has become a death trap with fatal accidents on the road reported at a frequent interval.
On the morning of January 15, 2021, an accident near Itigatti Cross had claimed 13 lives.
The accident has raised sharp criticism from residents who have senied the authorities for failing to expand bypass.
The police department was also blamed for not enforcing traffic management on stretching.
Making a serious record of the accident, the Supreme Court Committee on the safety of the road has been written to the main secretary, the Department of Transportation, the Government of Karnataka, look for detailed reports on accidents and steps proposed by the state government to prevent such accidents in the future.
The SC committee also searched for details about the number of accidents on stretching and fatalities that occurred in the past two years.
