Nagpur: Daily Covid-19 Count test, which increased to 20,000 in the last three days, slumped to slightly above 15,500 on Monday because less tests were carried out in most districts in Vidarbha on Sunday.
However, the number of new cases continued to remain around 1,500 despite a sharp decline in the test.
A total of 15,522 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
With 1,450 of them positive, the positive level of the test reaches near 10% on Monday, which is the highest for the area in several months.
Experts estimate that up to 20% of samples can test positive in omicron waves.
On Monday, a 69-year-old man from Baidpura Akola area, who was not vaccinated, died Covid-19.
He claimed to be GMCH Akola on January 8 authorities said the man had a severe co-morbid condition.
This is 5 covid deaths reported in Vidarbha in January, against more than 7,300 new cases.
This means, the January Fatality Rate case is 0.06% in the region.
Vidarbha recovery count was 199 on Monday, including 158 from Nagpur alone.
The number of patients under treatment increased to 6858.
Except for Washim, all districts have more than 150 patients under treatment.
But, the majority of them are in house isolation.

Meanwhile, two patients recovered, took a total recovery for 48,123.
The victim remained unchanged in 1327 because no new death was reported on Monday.
Amravati: Fifty-six new cases of 884 samples tested took the district case burden for 96,723 on Monday.
Six recovery took a total to 94,678.
Without death, the number of patients under treatment reached 445.
Yavatmal: the district recorded 75 new cases on Monday but there was no death due to Covid-19.
The victim remained unchanged in 1788.
