Trichy: Trichy Corporation has completed the third stage of the serology survey to estimate the breadth of the exposure to Koronavirus in the city.
Eight clusters were identified and surveyed in corporate jurisdiction and 24 clusters were chosen by the Ministry of Public Health in the district rural part.
Collection of samples is almost completed in rural areas.
Health officials said that the third phase began in all districts in the first week of July.
Random location was chosen by the State Health Department to ensure the accuracy and department of the district health and civil bodies were not involved in the regional election process.
Serosurvey will choose one household at the identified locality.
By using the KIS method (Respondent selection type), family members in each household will be registered based on their age and one person will be selected from the list to collect blood samples.
Serosurvey will check the blood sample of certain geographical occupants to detect immune responses to viruses and identify the existence of antibodies.
Lab technicians from the nearest primary health center were accompanied by medical officers to collect blood samples.
The answer to the set questionnaire includes the status of Covid-19 vaccination, symptoms of infection and age are collected from the local residents of the cluster.
“We chose respondents from 30 consecutive houses from the same road as expenses for better accuracy.
Those who do not want and lock the house skipped.
The selected area is not included in the previous two phases of Serosurvey,” Health Officer said Dr MM Yazhini city.
In the first two phases of Serosurvey in Trichy City, the seropocytivity is around 30%.
In rural trichy, 720 samples will be lifted from 24 clusters.
Health officials said that the public was more accommodating after explaining to them about the purpose of the survey.
The third phase is estimated to have high seropositivity than the first two phases since vaccinated people are also closed.
Similarly, the level of prospective in the second wave is higher than the first wave.
