The three-member cabinet panel to resolve the tribal problem, said Assam CM Himanta Buswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma on Wednesday said the state government would form a three-member cabinet committee to discuss and resolve all tribal problems.
The minister’s chairman said this while taking part in a review meeting with the Representative of the Assam Tribal Organization Coordination Committee (CCTOA), the organization of the umbrella of the tribal community scheduled, to discuss various problems of tribal people.
Head of CCTOA Convener Aditya Khaklar told Tii that the meeting was “positive” and the minister’s chairman had convinced the St.
community they would pay attention to.
Overall 24 students and social organizations from the ST community took part in the meeting.
The CCTOA representatives submitted a memorandum to the chairman of the minister underlined 10 demands, including the preservation of belts and tribal barriers, the right to forest occupants, the implementation of post-based reservation policies and post-deposits, constitutional status to the tribal autonomous council and so on.
The minister’s chairman, after going through demands, announced that the three-member cabinet committee will be formed to be involved with CCTOA to discuss and resolve all tribal problems.
The Cabinet Committee often holds a discussion with CCTOA and takes quick steps for resolving land rights and other problems of tribal people.
Sarma also told him that he would hold a discussion with CCTOA about the progress of the problem in the next six months.
The education and welfare of simple tribes and class minister backward Romanj Puru, housing and Urban minister Ashok Singhal, Head of BTC Pramod Bodo, the main secretary and other senior government officers present at the meeting.
