Srinagar: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including a top commander, were killed in a meeting in the residents of Sopore in the district of Kashmir Utara Baruyulla on Friday.
Terrorists who were killed were identified as the commander of Fayaz Ahmad War’s style alias Rukana aka Umar, a resident of Warda; And his aide Shaheen Ahmad Mir aka Shaheen Moldi, a Cherpora Budgam, IGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar said.
Both are part of the group involved in various terror crimes.
With the murder of the war, the last perpetrator of the violence recently in North Kashmir had been killed, said IGP Kumar.
Among the terrorists who were killed in Kashmir Valley this year, most belonged to Lashkar, the official record was revealed.
Instrumental in planning and implementing attacks on security companies other than civilian killings, war is one of the most sought-after terrorists in North Kashmir, said IGP.
Active since 2008, the previous war was related to Hizbul Mujahidin terrorist clothing before giving up weapons and ammunition and detained under the public security law.
After his release in March 2020, he again took a weapon and joined Lashkar.
He was the last active terrorist who conducted a series of terrorist crimes and violence in North Kashmir, including attacking the police party in residents in March last year where a policeman and a civilian was killed; Killing three CRPF personnel and civilians on Sunday crossing a month later; Kill CRPF police and civilians in Sopore; Killing two members of the city council and police in Sopore, and killed two police officers and two civilians at Chowk Sopore.
The war was also involved in a series of grenade attacks on police and security companies in several regions in Sopore.
On May 26, 2020, he carried out a grenade attack on the police station in Potukhah; On December 12, 2020, he carried out a grenade attack on the PP bus holder where four civilians were injured; On March 13, 2021, he carried out another grenade attack on the PP bus holder where two police officers were injured.
Providing details of Friday’s meeting, IGP said the joint army team, police J & K and CRPF launched the Cordon-and-search operation in residents on Thursday night.
Hollow-in terrorists were repeatedly asked to give up, but they showered the bullet at the search party, triggered a shootout where the Lashkar duo was killed.
Arms and ammunition and other burdensome items restored from the meeting place, IGP added.
