The Top Israeli diplomat made the first visit to Morocco since being increased in bonding

Jerusalem: Israeli Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid, left for Morocco on Wednesday in what would be the first visit by the Top Israeli diplomat because the two countries increased last year’s bond.
Israel and Morocco agreed in December to continue diplomatic relations and launched direct flights under the agreement brought by former US President Donald Trump, where Washington also acknowledged Moroccan sovereignty over West Sahara.
Leading the minister’s delegation, Lapid will inaugurate Israeli diplomatic missions in Rabat, visit Casablanca Historic temple Beth-el and hold talks with Moroccan partners, Nasser Bourita’s office said.
“This historic visit is a continuation of old friendship and the roots and deep traditions of the Jewish community in Morocco, and the big community of Israel with the origins in Morocco,” said Lapid ahead of a two-day visit.
Morocco is one of the four Arab countries, along with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, to move towards the normalization bond with Israel last year under the transaction in question.
The agreement angered Palestinians who had long relied on Arabic support in their search for state in the area occupied by Israel.
US President Joe Biden said he wanted to build a new relationship of Israel, which had been prioritized Lapid since he served in June as part of a cross-partisan coalition which replaced the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Only five weeks ago, Lapid made the Landmark of the First Visit by Israeli Foreign Minister to the UAE, where he tied Israeli bonds with the Bay Arab countries and highlighting concerns over their jaws of Iran.
Two Israeli operators launched nonstop commercial flights to Marrakech from Tel Aviv last month, but hopes for the broader Bonanza tourism have been postponed by a surge in Covid-19 cases in both countries in both countries.
Morocco is home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the region until the establishment of Israel in 1948.
When Jews fled or were expelled from many Arab countries, a quarter million estimate left Morocco for Israel from 1948 to 1964.
At present only around 3,000 Jews remained in Morocco, while hundreds of thousands of Israelis claimed some Moroccan ancestors.
