The Indian train prepares to run a full train with a saving AC-3 level coach, similar to the Humsafar Express concept.
AC Economy 3 Tier Class of Travel is the latest railroad offer, which is intended to make air-conditioned trips more affordable for ordinary people.
AC economic rates 3 are 8% lower than regular AC-3 coaches.
The Minister of Railway Railway Ashwini Vaishnaw recently checked the newly produced coach and said that efforts had to be made to run a full train consisting of AC-3 Tier Economic coach.
The official train told TII that the number of trainers needed is available, a train will be run based on trials to understand the demand and trend of occupancy.
The official said that whatever zone would need at least 16-18 coaches to run the train.
One thought is to try and run a full economic AC3 train in the ongoing festival season to measure responses.
The route for the train has not been decided.
Indian Railways first launched the AC 3 Coach economy in February this year.
The prototype, which was produced by RCF Kapurthala, was tested at a speed of 180 kmpj by RDSO.
The production target for this year is set at 800.
The coach is individually attached to several trains starting September.

According to Indian Railways, the trainers offer “the most affordable” train trips in the world.
Some of the main passenger friendly features included; Plane style ventilation that is personalized for air conditioning, personalized reading lights and filling points, bio-toilets modular, one friendly toilet divyang in each coach, the modified stairs to reach the middle and upper bed, fire bed and folding snack table for the hallway place also.
National Transporter aims to replace Sleeper coach with an AC-3 economy level on several remote trains to allow traveling faster and more convenient.
Sleepers are not comfortable to travel at speed than 110 kmpj.
