The train scheme for women’s safety reduces the theft case

Nagpur: Train Protection Force (RPF) and Central Railway (CR) has increased the precautionary measures of crime and also damaged gangs while detecting cases but success to bring down the incidence of theft originating from unexpected goals intended for unexpected purposes.
Overwhelmed by reducing the theft cases of 79% compared to the pre-Pandemic 2019 days, the RPF observed that their diligent implementation of the ‘Meri Saheli’ scheme to protect the woman who was traveling alone on the train would contribute to keeping the thief checking out passenger goods .
In 2019, there were 768 cases of theft until October.
During the locking pandemic, the cases had been reduced in 137 because most empty plying trains until October 2020.
Although there was an increase in the case of theft – 161 – this year until October compared to last year, passenger items remained safe even though the train frequency had been increase.
Senior Division Security Commissioner Ashutosh Pandey said the RPF had attended solo women passengers at 16 trains under the ‘Meri Saheli’ scheme covering three derived from Vidarbha.
“RPF in the ‘Meri Saheli’ team will spend time talking to women like that.
RPF must also click on a photo to maintain records.
Increasing the presence of police on the train seems to have helped reduce the theft cases,” he said.
Pandey also said long-range trains did not stop by small stations such as Ajni, Itwari, Narched, Permanent DLL also helped.
“Most thieves prefer to rise or get off at the Nondescript station where supervision is less.
Access control during Covid’s examination also helps,” he said.
