The train station and ISBT in Delhi are preparing for Fest Rush

New Delhi: Active celebration season and a surge in the number of passengers are expected at the Capital Railway Station and Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).
While the train and transportation authorities are directed with special arrangements to fulfill in a hurry, this time they have additional responsibility to ensure that the Covid-19 safety protocol is maintained.
At the New Delhi train station, the tent has appeared every year to act as a ‘temporary hall’ to avoid crowding on the platform.
However, there is added an emphasis on ensuring social distance, both in the waiting area and in the train station.
“The festival season continues for around 40 days, which includes Diwali and Chhath festivals, when special trains are deployed and special arrangements are made at the train station to serve in a hurry,” said a North Railroad official.
“The waiting area is currently available to protect passengers from elements and also avoid crowding on the platform.
However, we now make more frequent announcements including messages to ensure that the Covid protocol is maintained, regardless of the ordinary about the arrival and departure of the train, passenger assistance Etc., “he said, adding that the additional team of train protection forces (RPF) had been deployed, which also made a separate announcement.
The official said that the lounge had more water dispensers this time, apart from the food counter that served food at an economical price and information counter.
“The settings have been made to ensure that passengers do not need to enter the platform until they almost arrive when the arrival of the train they want,” he said.
As part of the security settings and crowd management steps, North Railways has a CCTV camera under an integrated security system at all the main stations and at the reservation center.
Special trains for season celebrations are also usually ‘distributed’ at large stations to avoid density at certain train stations.
Apart from the entrance gate and platform, the train authority also ensures that there is no crowding in Footbridges.
The festive season witnessed more crowding for coaches who were impartial and that was why the train was brought in a locked condition to the platform.
