The tribal tribal ended in Assam, pragmatic calls on AFSPA in March, said CM HIMANTA BUSWA SARMA

Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Buswa Sarma on Saturday said the state would take “pragmatic decision” to AFSPA when it appeared for updates in March.
He added that tribal militancy in the state ended and “the beginning of the end” conflict with Ulfa (I) was seen.
CM said that despite the demand for sovereignty Ulfa (I) was still a stumbling block, the government and clothing worked together to find the streets around it.
“This is a very complicated situation.
Paresh recently has been in the forest since 1982 and police Assam has been in paring since then.
But I dare say that we see the beginning of the end,” Sarma added.
“Before solving a complicated problem, we must be slow.
But I think the beginning of the end to achieve a peaceful solution can be seen.
I can’t say a definite time frame (to arrive at the solution) but the current position may not be upside.
I think the situation is hostile Nothing will be in Assam.
We see early peace but I can’t say at this time when it will be here, “he said.
“From personal interactions with various people who are directly or indirectly related to Paresh recently, it is clear that he is very positive and wants a negotiated solution and as well as the center and state government.
But the only block block is his request for sovereignty.
We work To create a new position where both parties actually don’t feel very difficult to talk, “Sarma added.
The tribal rebellion has ended and only Ulfa (I) remaining.
If you exclude them (ULFA-I), every other militant organization has deposited their weapons, “he said.
He added that the curtains had fallen in militancy in tribal land in carriicai Anglong and Dima Haso and Bodo region.
Sarma praised the civil society of tribes and The student’s body in playing the most important role in convincing militants to join the mainstream.
He said, “Regarding AFSPA, finally Assam would see the rationalization in 2022.
The army was virtually drawn from Assam, except five to six districts.
This is a dynamic situation.
After three months when AFSPA was ready for updates, Assam would take some pragmatic decisions in consultation with MHA.
“Action, the last extended in September for six months, was first applied in Assam in 1990 by MHA.
But 2017, the power to extend or attract was transferred to the state government.
He added that in Nagalnd too, there would be certain positive developments on AFSPA.
At Nagaland, the PM approach and the Minister of Home Affairs are very positive.
The formation of the committee with a 45-day deadline on AFSPA in Nagaland is a very important step that has been taken by the center.
With that there will be a lot of self-confidence and will help in overcoming other problems Also, he said.
Appreciate the Ulfa unilateral ceasefire (I), Sarma said, “If you look very close, even the government has shown a positive tendency to this ceasefire.
There has been no direct conflict with them in the past eight months.
In fact, it becomes a constitutional government, we must act against extortion and recruitment to protect human life and freedom.
