Nagpur: City Metro Station in Kasturchand Park (KP), which will have a historical look, will be open to the public in mid-August.
According to the release issued by Mahametro, the station is almost ready and the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner (CMR) is expected to examine it in the coming days.
“After the station is ready, the train from Khapri will travel to KP Station instead of Sitabuldi Interchange, Via Zero Mile Freedom Park Station.
Likewise, the train for Khapri will depart from KP,” the release was stated.
According to him, the station has been designed taking into account the legacy structure in the casturcand park.
“KP Station is a perfect example of a combination of modern facilities and historical infrastructure.
The lattice on the top floor of the Pavilion Kasturchand Pavilion has been replicated on a larger scale in the Façade Station.
The Nagpur Heritage Committee has guided the Façade work.
Total lattice work area on the station facade About 4,000 square meters, “added the release.
With a total area built up 5,486.74 square meters, the station is also environmentally friendly.
“Bio-digester which has a 5KL capacity has been installed with bed beds on the median road for drainage.
Then, the solar photovoltaic panel will also be installed on the roof of the station,” the official said.
The station will have two lifts from the road level to the level of the concert and the other two to take passengers from Concourse to the platform level.
Apart from this, two escalators have also been installed there.
