Silchar: The movement of trucks carrying supplies from Assam to Mizoram continued on Saturday after two ministers Assam assured local protesters to let them graduate, ended the unofficial economic blockade since the July 26 border shot had left the important state.
While the truck movement through the NH-306 of Cachar Assam District was continued first after 13 days, the vehicle began to move through NH-6 to Mizoram on Sunday night.
The Minister of Ashok Singhal, who was part of the first round of negotiations reconciled in Aizawl, said the truck began to move following the guarantee of the Mizoram government that they would institutionalize the investigation into the shooting where six Police Assam was killed and scored injuries.
The protesters in the Barak Valley have harmed 12 trucks in Lilapur on Saturdays just when they started moving towards Mizoram.
They agreed to end the blockade after Singhal and his partner Parimal Suklabaidya intervened.
Suklabaidya on Sunday said that there was no encroachment in the Assam region by Mizoram since the Government led by BJP took control of 2016.
