Kolkata: Assistant Regional Transportation Officer (Arto) was injured by injured when a truck demanded to exceed the heavy limit on the NH-34 tried to destroy it under the wheels near Farakka Barrage on Friday.
Arto Soumadruti Saha first rushed to Murshidabad’s hospital with a foot injury, but then shifted to a private hospital from Em bypass after his condition deteriorated.
Minister of Transportation Firhad Judge gave him a visit.
According to the police, Arto led the motor vehicle inspector team during a randomized examination on trucks that were overloaded.
A truck that was stopped near Ghobling was trying to speed up.
Saha chased the truck and intercepted him near the farakka series.
When he went near the truck, the driver stepped on the gas again and tried to cut it.
The truck was found abandoned before the next checkpoint.
The driver and cleaning are in process.
After visiting Saha at the hospital, the Judge said: “Our alertness to overload will continue.
The overload vehicle is to damage the road and bridge, and cause pollution.
The incident shows how dangerous these violators.
It only strengthens our determination.”
