Mangaluru: Tulu Language Script, designed by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy using historical documents, will soon be included in the Unicode character list, Kannada and the Minister of Culture Aravind Limbavali said on Tuesday.
“There are several discussions for about 10 years to design scripts.
Language experts and Tulu scripts do the last job in a round voice.
The script they did was received by the Academy.
We have agreed to an additional script to the Unicode character list,” Limbavali said.
By stating that The Karnataka government has asked the Institute of the Indian Language Center, Mysuru, to review and approve Tulu’s script, he said CILIL formed a language expert committee that analyzed the work and agreed.
Members of the Committee also recommend additional scripts to the Unicode Consortium.
