Prasagraj: With Ganga and Yamuna both recede quickly, afraid of the worst flood situation among city residents and officials now fading.
Since yesterday, the water level from both rivers has begun to recede but with a very slow speed.
However, since Friday morning, a decrease in the surface of the water took steps.
At 4pm, Ganga at Phaphamau receded at a level of 3 cm, and in Chhatnag, it receded at a speed of 4 cm per hour.
Yamuna is receding at a speed of 5 cm per hour.
In fact, Ganga in Chhatnag is now flowing under the danger of 84.73 m.
At 4 pm, Ganga flowed at 85.25 m in Phaphamau, and at 84.29 m in Chhatnag.
At the same time, Yamuna flowed at 84.98 m in Naini.
Now with a quick decline on the surface of the water, the locals have breathed a sigh of relief.
Those who live in a flood aid camp have already begun to get ready to return to their homes.
Those who have moved to the first floor they have started contacting laborers and painters to get their ground floor restored.
“Because the entire ground floor of my house was submerged in flood water, I had to clean it first and then apply fresh paint before moving back,” said Dharmendra Kanojia, resident of Chhota Bagdha Locality.
Administration and the district NDRF team visited several areas affected by flooding on Friday.
“We distribute covered rice, drinking water, biscuits, and other eaten foods to people who are stranded in a flooded area,” said Dinkar Tripathi, Inspector in NDRF.
“The two rivers have begun to recede, and we believe that Yamuna too, such as Ganga in Chhatnag, will drop under the hazard on Friday night.
Ganga in Phaphamau will also climb a danger sign on Saturdays, and the receding trend will continue in the coming days , “said the Department of Irrigation Executive Engineer, Brijesh Kumar Singh.
