Ahmedabad: The two-story building near the Didbai Tower in the Lal Darwaza area in Ahmedabad collapsed on Tuesday night.
One person is feared to be stuck under the rubble.
The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency (AFE) control room officer said that three vehicles consisting of nearly 30 firefighting personnel were rushed to the place for rescue operations.
The ambulance has also been deployed on the site to handle any possibility.
A local police team was deployed in place to control the crowd.
A firefighter said that the building was around 50 years old and it was in dilapidated condition.
Locals accuse that there are various old structures in the walled city that tends to collapse anytime.
In the past two months, four such housing buildings have collapsed in a walled city area.
