The UN Security Council condemned the coup’s efforts in Sudan

NEW YORK: The UN Security Council has condemned in the strongest term Tuesday’s efforts to disrupt the Sudanese transition by force.
In a statement, the Security Council member stressed their full support for Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok in his efforts to see Sudan through a successful transition in a way that achieved the expectations and aspirations of the Sudanese, who were inclusive, peaceful, stable, democratic future And prosper.
Board members urge all stakeholders to be constructively engaged with national initiatives known as “national crisis and transition problems – in the future,” and further encourage civil and military actors to remain committed and continue to work in the spirit of cooperation.
And collaboration to achieve the objectives of Sudan’s inclusive transition as described in constitutional documents and Juba peace agreements, the statement said.
Board members revealed their solidarity with the Sudanese and stressed their readiness to support Sudan during the transition period, and reaffirmed their strong commitment to sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and Sudan’s national unity, he said.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the trial of the coup on Tuesday.
