New Delhi: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Thursday attached 29 land parcels by turning 13,600 square meters with a book value of Rs 30.29 Crore in connection with the investigation carried out on the Unitech group.
The land parcels are located in the 96-98 sector in Noida Uttar Pradesh.
These land parcels are illegally allocated for Carnoustie Management (India) PVT Ltd (CMPL) by Chandras Unitech Group, The Ed said on Thursday.
The source of funds for purchasing land parcels is homebuyer funds previously transferred to CMPL by Chandras.
Ed initiated a money laundering investigation based on various pine registered by Delhi Police and the Investigation Bureau (CBI), based on complaints by home buyers on the Unitech group, promoters and others.
Investigation by Ed revealed that the Unitech Group had shifted the results of crime to RS Tone 347.95 Crore to Carnoustie Group and in turn, the Carnoustie Group entity has purchased several property not engaged in India and abroad from the results of this crime.
The total crime results detected by ED, in this case, is Rs 7,638.43 Crore.
Previously, Ed had conducted a search operation in 41 locations in NCR and Mumbai in the Shivalik Group, Trikar Group, Unitech Group and Carnoustie Group.
“After the analysis of the records confiscated followed by the disclosure of various people, the transfer and coating POC above have been excavated,” said The Ed, added “with this attachment, the total attachment in this case had reached Rs 672.52 Crore”.
