The United Nations frees emergency funds to store the Afghan health system from collapse

Geneva: Head of the United Nations Assistance told Wednesday that he had released $ 45 million in emergency funds to help prevent Afghan’s health care system faint due to collapse.
Martin Griffiths, the community under the United Nations Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Aid Coordinators, warns in a statement that “drugs, medical supplies and fuel run out in Afghanistan.” “Cold chains are compromised.
Essential health care workers are not paid,” he said.
Afghan’s health care system plunged into the crisis after the Taliban swept power last month, making it difficult for help and leaving many health facilities that lacked facilities.
In an effort to avoid disaster, Griffiths said he released funds from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund to increase the support of saving life in Afghanistan.
“Allowing the Afghan health delivery system to fall apart will be a disaster,” he said.
“People throughout the country will be rejected access to primary health care such as Emergency Caesarian and Trauma Care.” The funds, he said, will go to the UN health and children’s institutions, which enable them with the help of NGO partners to maintain hospitals, Covid-19 centers and other health facilities that operate until the end of the year.
“The United Nations is determined to stand by Afghans for their long time,” Griffiths said.
