The United Nations, US officials urge action to prevent climate disasters

Berlin: Head of UN Human Rights and Climate Envoy US President Joe Biden is called Thursday for countries to step up against the war against global warming, describing it as a problem of human survival.
In a statement in front of the UN climate summit in Glasgow, the global high commissioner for human rights said, “Only urgent actions, priorities can mitigate or prevent disasters that will have great – and in some cases impact on all of us, especially children Our children and grandchildren.
“Michelle Bachelet urged the government to take part in October 31.
13 Climate meetings to succeed in financial assistance work to help poor countries that are most at risk of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and overcoming the impact of global warming.
“This is the obligation of human rights and survival issues,” he said.
“Without a healthy planet to live, there will be no human rights – and if we continue our path now – maybe no human.” His words echoed by US climate messenger John Kerry, who warned the dramatic impact that exceeded the purpose of the 2015 Paris Accord at global warming would be owned in nature and humans.
“The awesome consequences follow if we exceed 1.5 degrees (Celsius, 2.7 Fahrenheit),” he said in Thursday’s speech at the London School of Economics.
“And we are now almost 1.2 C.” “Nothing exaggerates when they call this existential threat.
Just ask people in the Marshall Islands, Fiji or in vulnerable countries in the world,” Kerry said.
However, diplomats tried to print optimistic records in front of the Summit, which unites tens of thousands of officials, scientists and climate activists.
“I went to Glasgow as optimistic,” he said, noting that the government had proposed a more ambitious climate plan than before.
Kerry quoted a recent commitment by Biden administration for the United States to aim for greenhouse gas emissions “zero zero” in the middle of the century, movements similar to countries and other businesses, and more awareness of urgency to handle climate change.
Citing a recent UN report that highlighted the gap between the promise of the country and what scientists said was needed to close the heating at 1.5 C at the end of this century, Keri said certain responsibilities with the top 20 world economics.
Many of these countries will gather for G-20 meetings in Rome this weekend, where the climate is expected to be the main topic.
Kerry noted that China, the top pollutants of the world, alone emitting about 80% of greenhouse gases throughout the world are able to pump into the atmosphere if they want to fulfill the purpose of Paris.
Beijing said it plans to peak emissions before 2030 and reach zero zero in 2060 – a decade later from the United States and the European Union, which has historically contributed to global warming.
Kerry said Glasgow “Non-tip of the road” and countries must continue to raise their targets over the years to come.
A report released Thursday by Climate Think Tanks said changes in the sectors of electricity generation to industry and agriculture need to be accelerated.
It looks at 40 indicators and “the bad news is that there is no one from those who are on the track,” said the reports of co-author Kelly Levin, Chief Science, data and the system changed in the Bezos Earth Fund.
“Bright spots are a little and far away, to be honest,” Levin said.
“And for most indicators, even when we see the changes towards the right direction, someone needs to speed up the rate of change, and with a factor, often, more than double.” Separately, the Red Cross Federation said the climate-related disaster and the weather had caused more than 30 million people to run away from their homes in 2020 – three times more than the number of people displaced with war.
These include countries such as Iraq, Yemen and Mozambique, but also rich countries like Germany, which this year saw flooding in the West.
“While climate change affects everyone, he has a disproportionate impact on the poorest people in the world, those who contribute at least for climate change,” General General General Red Cross General Chapagain in the report.
