The university must discuss socio-economic problems, the political problems faced by the world: Vice President

New Delhi: Venkaiiah Naidu vice-president on Wednesday asked the University to become a leader of thinkers in finding solutions to global challenges such as climate change, poverty and pollution.
He also wants universities to discuss various socio-economic and political problems faced by the world and produce ideas that can be carried out by the government according to their needs.
Almost handling the prime session of the World Universities, Vice President said the University must produce academics, economists, and good politicians who have good behavior, capacity, character and caliber.
Referring to the Summit theme, “The University’s University: Building institutional resilience, social responsibility and community impact”, Naidu calls for promoting a multi-disciplinary approach and is emphasized in collaborative academic efforts to create sustainable and scalable solutions for challenges around us.
According to an official statement, he argues that sustainable development is the answer to many challenges faced by today’s world and universities can play a major role in this goal.
“The university needs to instill sustainability as a underlying mission in all activities they pursue in various fields”, he said.
Noting that virtual education cannot be a substitute for conventional class learning, the vice president said there was a need to develop a hybrid teaching model for the future by combining the best elements of offline and online education.
He said such a model must be interactive and attractive to students and teachers to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
He emphasizes that teaching is not only shipping content; But must prepare students to learn independently and are creative.
“Through pro-active critical thinking, students must be formed into leaders in the field they choose, so that they finally evolved into drivers of social change”, he added.
Naidu acknowledged that the Covid-19 pandemic had forced faster innovation in educational discipline which could help us build a fairer teaching and learning system.
However, he also stated that the need to continue to improve and improve the academic ecosystem online.
Calling an increase in the use of artificial intelligence in Edutech, the vice president believes that it can enrich teaching and learning experiences significantly and can also provide personalized education to every child.
Naidu also called for using online education tools in adult skills and education training to improve the skills and work abilities of the large youth population.
Appreciate the role of the university in research on Covid-19 vaccination and related fields, Naidu said that mankind owed a lot to thousands of faculty members, research scholars and students who had spent many days and night work quietly to bring up useful research for the world.
Calling the internationalization of the curriculum, he wants to increase collaboration in research, shared classes and student projects with industrial active involvement.
He also wants the University of India to fly the world for the wealth of ancient Indian knowledge systems that seek to promote sustainable ways of production and consumption.
Referring to the complexity and diversity of the large population of India, Vice President wants access to access to education and calls for the balance of quantity and quality of education to reap the benefits of large demographic dividends.
“With our history that is rich in Vedas and Upanishad, we must try to become an important capital of the world or Wiswa Teacher, once again”, he added.
