Coimbatore: A faculty member from the University of Bharathiar has been nominated as the Royal Society of Biology (RSB), UK – the leading global body of biological researchers in biology.
Prof.
T Parimelazhagan from the botanical department has been recognized for its contribution in the field of biology.
He holds four patents who have economic significance towards ethnic medical countries.
His research has opened a new way to prove the scientific validation of the traditional medicine system.
Parimelazhagan is the first man of RSB in biology discipline from the University of Bharathiar.
He was recently respected with a mid-career award under the UGC faculty research promotion scheme for the research caliber in exploring ethnobotanical knowledge.
Praising the achievement of Parimelazhagan, Mrs.
Deputy Chancellor P Kaliraj stressed that more faculty members from the university would be accredited immediately like him.
