The US approved sales of $ 100 million weapons to Taiwan in the middle of tension with China

Taipei: The United States has agreed to the possibility of sale of equipment and services of USD 100 million to Taiwan to “maintain, maintain, and improve the” patriot missile defense system used by self-governmental islands claimed by China.

Meanwhile, Taiwan welcomed US steps to approve USD 100 million sales of weapons.
Taking to Twitter, Taiwan’s State Department said, “We welcome @ Statedept Approval from Weapons Sales of USD100 million to Taiwan.

It also supports the maintenance of our defensive abilities., As well as regional peace & stability .
the move came at a time of tension between China and Taiwan increased.
the relationship between China and the US also deteriorated in several times for various reasons including the Winter Olympic Games of Beijing, the Indo-Pacific and Pandemic Coronavirus.
China has repeatedly threatened Taiwan with invasion and has adopted Aggressive policies to intimidate the island of government itself.
For decades, the Chinese government has claimed authority over Taiwan.
Although Taiwan is not recognized by the United Nations, the government maintains relations with the US and does not accept Chinese authorities.
