Washington / New Delhi: The US on Wednesday issued security warnings for its citizens in India, advising them to avoid the area, crowd and demonstration that stand out together with taking steps for their own safety considering the protest of farmers in New Delhi.
The Farmers Union on Tuesday said they would hold a ‘Kisan Parliament’ in Jantar Mantar during the ongoing rainy season session from Parliament and every day starting July 22, 200 demonstrators will go there from the Singhu border.
“New Delhi New Embassy realized media reports on the possibility of demonstrations in and around New Delhi on 21 and July 22 by farmers and consperson considers.
Previous protests have caused violence,” Embassy in a press release issued on Wednesday.
Noting that the possibility and location of the protest that occurred was unknown, it was said that trade unions had asked permission for 200 protesters to walk to parliament in new agricultural law protests.
There may be more police on the streets, additional checkpoints, and the number of demonstrators unknown in and around Delhi, said press release.
It also advises them to avoid prominent areas, including parliament, crowds, demonstrations, monitor local media for renewal, wary of their environment, review their personal security plans and heed the instructions of their law enforcement officials.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of more than 40 farmers unions pioneered stirring against central agricultural law, has planned that around 200 farmers will protest the parliament outside every day since July 22 during the Monsoon session.
Monsoon Parliament sessions began on Monday and were scheduled to conclude on August 13.
Thousands of farmers from all over the country have been nervous on the border of Delhi against the three agricultural laws that they claim to get rid of the minimum support price system, go them at the Mercy of Big Corporations.
More than 10 rounds of talks with the government, which has projected laws on major agricultural reforms, failed to break the deadlock between the two parties.
