San Diego: Five missed people after the US Navy helicopter hit Tuesday in the ocean of southern California during routine flights from the aircraft carrier, military official said.
Search and rescue operations were launched after the MH-60 helicopter fell around 4:30 a.m.
About 60 miles of the sea from San Diego, the Pacific ARMAID of the Navy said in the initial statement.
Officials later said that a crew member was saved and “the search effort continued for five additional crew members.” The accident occurred when the plane “conducted routine flight operations,” according to the Navy.
