WASHINGTON: The US State Department said Friday that Moscow forced him to dismiss nearly 200 Russian employees in the Russian diplomatic mission, saying this step will narrow diplomatic efforts and embassy operations.
State Secretary Antony Blinken said 182 Russian employees and dozens of contractors in Moscow, Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg will be passed after the orders of the Russian government in April in retaliation over Russia.
“Starting in August, the Russian government prohibits the United States from maintaining, recruiting, or contracting Russian or third countries, except for the strength of our guards,” Blinken said in a statement.
“Malang steps will greatly affect US mission for Russian operations, potentially including the safety of our personnel and our ability to be involved in diplomacy with the Russian government,” he said.
In April, Washington expelled 10 Russian diplomats, expanding restrictions on Russian banks and ordered 32 Russia for the interference of US Kremlin, Big Cyberattack and other hostile activities.
In retaliation, Russia expelled 10 US diplomats and prohibited US mission from hiring non-US citizens, starting from August.

“Even though we regretted the actions of the Russian government forced the reduction of our services and operations, the United States would follow up on our commitment while continuing to pursue a predictable and stable relationship with Russia,” Blinken said.
