WASHINGTON: AS pediatric hospitalization associated with Covid-19 is at the highest level since the start of Pandemi, according to the latest data from the US center for controlling and prevention of disease (CDC).
The country has an average of 893 new hospital receipts every day for children 17 years and below, the highest record since the CDC began tracking numbers from August 2020.
Most of this inpatient because of Covid-19, although some are children accepted For other causes but are tested positive for Covid-19 when they are accepted or while living in their hospital, according to the CDC.
The state saw more than 90,000 total hospital admissions for children aged 17 years and under August 1, 2020 to 13 January 2022, CDC data showed.
The highest level of hospitalization among all children is at a new age of up to 4 years, which has not been eligible for vaccination.
Omicron variants do not seem to cause more severe disease in children than other virus variants, and the overall level of pediatric hospitalization is still lower than in the adult age group, according to the CDC.
