WASHINGTON: The US State Department has agreed to a potential agreement which covers $ 500 million in military support services for Saudi Arabia, and has sent an agreement to Congress to be reviewed, the word Pentagon on Thursday.
It was the first main defense agreement for Saudi Arabia sent to Congress since President Joe Biden served on January 20.
It comes after criticism of the United States bond with the empire on the record and the involvement of human rights in Yemen.
This package will provide sustainable maintenance support services for various helicopters, including the Chinook Ch-47D helicopter fleet in the future.
The announcement said the vendor was unknown.
“The proposed sales will support US and national foreign policy by helping to improve the security of friendly countries that continue to be important forces for political stability and economic growth in the Middle East,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.
