Lucknow: Almost three months after the center announced a minimum support price increase (MSP) for rice, the State Cabinet on Wednesday completed the PADI purchase policy for 2021-22.
In June, the Union Cabinet had increased MSP Paddy General from Rs 1,868 to Rs 1,940 per quintal and class A Paddy from Rs 1,888 to Rs 1,960 per quintal.
The State Cabinet has improved the procurement target of 70 lakh metric tons of rice in marketing year 2021-22.
At least 4,000 centers will be arranged for rice purchases, which 1,100 will be the marketing division of the Department of Food and Civil Equipment, 1,500 of the Cooperative Federation (PCF), 600 of UP Cooperative Union Ltd (PCU), 200 Status Up Krishi Utpadan Parishad, 300 of Consumer Cooperative Union (UPS) and 300 of the Food Corporation of India.
Procurement will be carried out through the PFMS portal and payment will be made for farmers within 72 hours.
In terms of Division Bareilly, Moradabad, Meerut, Saharapur, Agra, Aligarh and Jhansi, and Hardoi and Lakhimpur in the Lucknow Division, procurement will be carried out between October 1 and 31 January 2022.
In the case of Lucknow (Lucknow, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Unnao), Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Devipatan, Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Prayagraj Division, Procurement will be conducted from November 1 to February 28, 2022.
According to policy, the purchase center will remain open from 9am – 5pm but DMS will Allowed to make changes needed in the opening time and closure of the center according to local conditions.
To facilitate farmers, the purchase center will remain open on all working days, except Sundays and holidays carved.
The name and address of the purchase center, along with MSP, must be displayed in the Panchayat / public places such as cooperative communities, agricultural marketing centers, and seed sales centers and fertilizers.
This center will be marked geographically with the help of the remote sensor application center (RSAC).
In addition, the name and address of the purchase center of all agencies in the district, central location, and names and mobile numbers from the responsible center will be available on the district website.
Information will be available for farmers at registration via SMS.
Paddy will be purchased through the biometric authentication of farmers through the electronic point of the purchase engine.
