New Delhi: The Delhi government has sought advice from students, parents and teachers about whether school and college in the national capital must be reopened for physical classes.
The move occurred after several countries were announced to reopen schools and colleges, or plan to do it in the coming months.
Deputy Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, who also held an educational portfolio, told a press conference that while some parents and teachers have shown their interest in reopening the school, they also expressed their concern for student safety.
“During a meeting of ongoing parents (PTMS) in government schools, many parents and teachers say that schools and colleges will now be reopened because the Covid situation is controlled in the national capital.
However, before the state government made a decision Whatever, as Minister of Education Delhi, I want to invite suggestions from parents and Tje teachers and even from students about this problem, “Sisodia said.
Delhi residents, whose children are registered in private / government schools or colleges, can send their views by email to delhischools21@gmail.com.
E-mail must include names of students and schools / colleges, and brief suggestions whether school or college must be reopened in the national capital.
“We will collect all the views and present them before the committee is in charge of keeping this problem,” said Sisodia.
Deputy CM also told that more than five parents Lakh had attended PTMS, both digitally and physically, from July 19 and so on.
The Directorate of Education (DOE) from the Delhi Government has initiated PTMS in all government schools to assess progress of students.
The process will expire on July 30.
Schools and colleges in the national capital are still closed since March 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic addict.
