Jhansi: Thousands of people more than a dozen villages and schools, including Jawahar Navoday Vidyalaya, remained cut off from the main banda city for a week after the 452 train underpass in Durendi surrendered.
Without an alternative way, the population of the villages is jammed and cannot go to the city of Banda to get their daily provisions.
The road also connects the area with MP part.
On September 10, about 10-15 meters from the durendi retaining wall surrendered because of water logging.
Fortunately, there were no casualties because some people stood there raised a timely warning.
Locals claim that the four-year-old underpass surrendered due to lower construction quality.
Without a solution to surviving problems, locals serve memorandum for DRM Jhansi, Ashutosh.
It has been signed by hundreds of local residents including village heads and principals who warn for agitation and stop trains that fail in every constructive solution on Saturdays.
A separate letter has also been sent to the train minister by local parliamentarians, Vishambar Prasad Nishad, quoted the problem.
Nishad also mentioned that previously he had raised the quality of inferior construction but the train authority did not receive his notification.
The letter also mentioned that the closest alternative intersection of 451 was five kilometers away without a accessible road.
In accordance with the local, “Previous Banda DM who was present on the crash day had convinced the opening of the junction of the manual level for routine trips to the underpass was repaired, but the situation remained the same.
We cannot even get our daily provisions.” CPRO NCR, Shivam Sharma, said: “We cannot open the manual level intersection at 452 LC due to security issues and will suggest using a crossing number 451.”
