The villagers were sentenced to do Jallikattu after digging Hillock

National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed a group of villagers in Tirupur Regency to pay Rs 1.9 lakh to dig a portion of the local hill and cut down trees to do Jallikattu (Jining Events).
K Muthuswamy, a resident of the village of Thogutti Pallayam, has submitted a case of accusing ‘Alagumalai Jallikattu Kalaigal Nalasangam’ conducting events in January on land owned by Temple of Muthukumara Bala DhandayuthuHapan.
The group explores and digs some hills, spread in 70 hectares, and uses heavy earth drivers to cut down trees, said Muthuswamy in the petition.
Furthermore, NGT Southern Zone (SZ) formed a shared committee, which consisted of officials from the Tamil Nadu pollution control agency (TNPCB), revenue, religious and charity endowmen and the Department of Forest, to pay attention to the problem.
During inspections, the committee found the bushes and the tree ‘could not be used’ cut down from the field of Jallikattu and the top layer was issued for a depth of around 1.8 m on the west side of the Temple of Temple.
This changes the topography of the area, the report said.
The geological and mining departments, who examined the site, told the court that a total of 682.5 cubic minor minor meters illegally mined for the purpose of creating a shelter for 784 bulls, participating in the event.
Based on these findings, members of NGT SZ – Justice K.
Ramakrishnan and K Satyagopal – on September 23 direct the group, which regulates the event, to pay Rs 1.9 lakh as expenses that occur and losses borne because mining small mining illegally.
This group has three months to pay the amount, land level and plant trees as suggested by the Joint Committee.
Failed, the Tirupur district collector has been directed to do the same and restore the number of them.
