Kolkata: The Government of Bengal has won five Skoch 2021 awards (platinum, gold and three silver awards) in four categories of government.
The MSME & Textile department leads from the front and won four of five awards, including the top two.
One window window system called Shilpa Sathi was chosen for the highest award category, platinum.
Other MSME projects, automatic updates registration certificates through online systems for urban areas, winning gold awards.
Two silver awards are won for online publishing trade licenses in rural areas and e-nathikaran, e-preparation and electronic submission by the MSME & Textile departments.
The only other silver award was won by the West Bengal Regional Electricity Distribution Company limited to sustainable performance as the second largest power utility with a substantial IT transformation.
Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee Tweeted: “Happy to announce that under the ease of conducting a business initiative, the Gowb scheme includes silpasathi, e-nathikaran, online system for automatic updates Registration Certificate (Urban) & Online system for the issuance of trade licenses (rustic)) has won awards Dear Skoch.

Gowb will continue to ensure that the ease of doing business in West Bengal is one of the leading in this country.
“Skoch Foundation, India held a Smart Governance award for Recognizing government organizations and organizations working with the government, operating at the local level, state and national in the field of health, education, rural development / Pancayati Raj, urban development, agriculture, and transporting.
Countries and organizations that offer the practice of ecologically and sustainable best governance can send nominations.
They must show innovation in the practice of governance while responding to local conditions adequately.
Useful results of the Skoch award process are the benchmarks that are stipulated to compare cross-sectoral performance.
