Jalandhar: Bureau of Vigilance (VB) captured the Bhargo Camp Sho Police Office Inspector Gurdev Singh on Thursday late at night when receiving graft money of 10,000 from someone who wants to open the license for opening travel agents.
SSP VB Dilkyinder Singh Dhillon said that the Daljinder Singh complainant, a local resident and retired technician from the Indian Army, has submitted a request to open a travel agent but Police Bhargo Camp gave a negative report about him.
He then learned that the reason for the negative report was he did not give a bribe of Rs 10,000.
When he approached Sho, the latter demanded bribery and also called the file back.
On Thursday night, VB arrested him with a red hand after he took the 10,000 Rs of the complainant.
Dhillon said that an employee who worked at the Jalandhar Police weapon branch commission also coincided with the Sho and returned the previous verification report by hand through the complainant.
