The White House is seen to improve the US truck industry

Washington: Biden Administration Meets the Truck Industry on Thursday because it seems to help add new drivers to the main part of the US supply chain.
The White House said Covid-19 “aggravated the challenges of labor which took place in the truck transport industry, including high turnover rates, old workers, hours away from home, and the time spent waiting.” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh will join the Director of the National Economic Council Brian Deese in holding a round table in the White House with leaders in the truck industry, including business leaders and labor.
The Department of Transportation and Labor launches the “good driving” initiative together.
The White House said it was “asking the industry, labor, and all levels of government, to overcome the challenges of this truck labor and began to build the next generation truck workforce.” The security administration of the federal motorbike carrier will soon launch the pilot for the driver aged 18-21 as the mandate under the New Infrastructure Law.
Teamsters President Jim Hoffa on December 1 News Detroit Detroit’s opinion argues there is there “no shortage of experienced truck drivers.
However, there is a problem with this driver getting a fair salary and treatment of their employers.” He added “the truck driver was underestimated by big business even after all the work they did to keep America run during the hardest days in Covid-19.” The White House said the transportation department provided $ 30 million to help state the issuance of a commercial driver license.
They also accelerate the expansion of registered internship programs.
Last month, the Department of Transportation projected that shipping tonnage will increase by 50% in 2050 to 28.7 billion tons.
The truck, which currently carries 65% of the US transport tonnage, is expected to remain the bearer of dominant goods.
The American Trucking Association (ATA) said the industry in 2020 employed 3.36 million truck drivers.
It is estimated that this year the lack of drivers will reach a height of more than 80,000 drivers.
