Washington: Half of the US population is now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the White House said on Friday, because inoculation rose in response to the Delta variant which jumped from the Coronavirus novel.
“50% of Americans (all ages) are now fully vaccinated.
Continue to go!,” Cyrus Shahpar, home White Building Covid-19 Director, said in a tweet.
That means more than 165 million people have received a modern vaccine or two-dose Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson shots that are one-and done.
The threshold of half of all American adults is fully vaccinated at the end of May.
Shahpar said the average seven days of newly vaccinated people rose 11 percent from last week and rose 44 percent over the past two weeks.
The United States is a nation that was hit by a pandemic with 615,000 deaths.
Biden has suppressed Americans to be vaccinated since he served in January.
But after peaking in April, the level of people who were vaccinated every day fell sharply.
This aggressive vaccination program has increased hopes of returning to several similarities in normal life this summer, but in the end it does not come out because of the Delta variant.
Daily new cases, death and hospitalization rose sharply in recent weeks, and cities such as New York and Los Angeles impose new restrictions such as demanding evidence of vaccination to enter indoor places and fitness centers.
Last week there was an average of 90,000 new coronavirus cases per day.
Florida and Texas accounted for one third of them, the White House said.
For four consecutive weeks, the average number of people who will vaccinate every day has increased, the Coordinator of the White House Covid Jeff Zients said Thursday.
