Washington: White House said there was no decision to change the Covid-19 guide to wearing a face mask.
Press Secretary Jen PSAKI insisted on Thursday that the control centers and prevention of disease, and not the White House, made decisions about public health.
PSAKI said that every change in the guidance will come from the CDC.
The current guidelines are that individuals who are fully vaccinated do not need to use facial masks while those who are not vaccinated must continue to wear them.
The White House and Public Health Officials have discussed whether to update mask guidance because the surge in Covid-19 infection is blamed on a very contagious Delta variant.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said on Thursday the briefing that while his agency always reviewed data, recommendations did not change.
