Palghar: A 48-year-old woman died after family members from her daughter’s friend allegedly beat her over a small dispute in Maharashtra, police said on Monday.
The daughter of the 20-year-old woman posted a message on whatsapp status, which her friend thought was directed at him and offended him, said the Senior Inspector of the Board of Police Board Surezam without leaking the contents of the post.
On February 10, other girls and sisters went to the victim’s house Lilavati Devi’s House in Shivaji Nagar and allegedly struggling and family members, he said.
Prasad suffered a serious injury and rushed to the hospital where he died the next day while undergoing treatment, the official said.
His daughter told reporters on Sunday that the WhatsApp post was a general person and was not directed to his friend.
Based on his complaint, the police arrested another girl and two family members again and registered a case against them under the Indian Criminal Code 304 (murder guilty who did not number murder), the official said.
The defendant was produced before the local judge who sent it in police custody until February 15, the police said.
