Gurgaon: Sunita Srivastava, whose body was pulled from the bottom of the debris after 53 hours of efforts by NDRF, was cremated by family members on Sunday.
Pastor Sunita Mahabir Prasad, who retired as a supervisor engineer in the Department of Bihar Irrigation, said the worst thing that could happen to any father was to participate in the last rite of his children.
Two Prasad’s daughters – Sunita and Sujata – are present at Tower D when vertical collapse occurs.
Sujata, who was in the restroom, escaped.
In the crematorium on Sunday, he was seen trying to comfort his sister’s son – Ankit and Sobit.Sujata, who had just arrived in the US, living with Sunita’s sister and brother-in-law, Arun Srivastava.
Arun was saved alive after staying under the waist of debris down for 16 hours.
He wanted to take part in his wife’s last rite but was not allowed to leave the hospital.
“Sunita is used to keep the family stay together.
In January, he visited me on Patna and should come again.
Only if this poor incident has not happened,” said Prasad.
