Coimbatore: Karamadai police arrested a 47-year-old woman for killing her 31-year-old daughter on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mahakshmi, wife of Saravanakumar Somaiyanur near Chinnathadagam in Coimbatore.
He works as a laborer.
Mahakshmi married Saravanakumar 14 years ago and the couple had a 13-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son.
“After Saravanakumar was killed in an accident eight months ago, his mother Thusmani usually suggested widows to be careful.
His children instead of spending hours chatting on the phone.
When he continued to ignore his advice, Thumani asked Mahalakhmi to live with her mother Nagamani of KanuvaiPalaryam near the caramadai, “said a police officer .
Around 11:30 a.m., Nagamani spoiled Mahakshmi to death using grinding stones when he fell asleep.
“The police arrested Nagamani for killing his daughter on Monday and booked it under Section 302 (killing) from the Criminal Procedure.
