Fort Lauderdale: A Chicago woman was arrested on Monday night at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for allegedly raising a fear of bombs after missing her flight, the authorities said.
The 46-year-old woman has been charged with falsely reporting bombs, exploding or mass destruction weapons, according to the release of the Office of the Sheriff Broward office.
The airline employee told responding to the deputy that the woman stated that a bomb was in the baggage of his check-in on the plane, officials said.
He filed a claim after the worker told him that he and his party had arrived late to get on a plane, the detectives said.
The plane had a taxi to the runway but had not taken off when diverted.
Passengers are evacuated, and the plane is sought.
There are no explosives found, officials said.
