Mumbai: The body of a woman was found filled in a plastic bag in the sewer on the suburbs of Makhurd, with suspicious police being a murder case, an official said on Monday.
Some people passed to see the bag lying in ‘Nullah’ (drain) in Zakir Hussain Nagar of Mankhurd during the early hours of Sunday and warned local police, he said.
When the police opened the bag, they found a woman’s body, aged around 25 to 30 years, with hands and legs tied with a rope.
They also found ‘Mangalsutra’ (a necklace worn by a married woman), Bangles and several other items on the body, the official said.
Police scan CCTV footage from the area to get directions and also try to see complaints from people who are missing in the nearby police station, he said.
A pine is listed under the Indian Criminal Code 302 (murder) and 201 (causing loss of evidence of violations) against unknown people and further investigation into this case, he added.
