Prasagraj: Two members of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team who took India to the semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics, Gurjit Kaur and Nisha Warsi, were given a great reception on them back to Sangam City on Friday.
Gurjit and Nisha, who worked at the North Railways Prayagraj Division (NCR), was taken to the NCR headquarters in the vehicle decorated with the lead RPF band and played the tone of the “Saare of Saare Se Achcha Hindustan Hamara”.
They joined the officers and NCR sportsmen.
People pay their respect by showering the petals of roses on them as long as they are.
The procession starts from the Collony Railway NCR gate where CPRO Shivam Sharma and Deputy Head of the Vigilance Officer Ankur Chandra welcomed them by presenting a bouquet of honor and marking the caravan.
Hockey coach NCR Pushpa Shrivastava accompanied the Olympics along their way.
When he reached the headquarters, the players were welcomed by Sharad Mehta, the President of the NCR sports association.
Mehta brought the players to the conference room where the criminal ceremony was held.
NCR GM Pramod Kumar and President of the Women’s Welfare Organization NCR (NCRWWO) Poonam Kumar Felicated Gurjit and Nisha by presenting each scarf, bouquet and mento.
GM said that Gurjit and Nisha have become an inspiration for all, and NCR will provide the best assistance to their sportsmen so that more Gurjits and Nisha can bring victory to the nation in the future.
Deputy CVO Ankur Chandra gave a brief introduction of the players and narrated their struggles and journey to the Olympics.
GM also shares that the promotion process of the two players in the officer’s cadre has begun and the announcement for the same thing will be done in time.

The formal ceremony ended with the sound of a thank you proposed by CPRO Shivam Sharma.
A large number of sportsmen were also present together with members of the NCR men and women’s hockey team on that occasion.
