Kolhapur: The Forestry Department has captured the Ayurvedic shop owner and one more person from Kolhapur.
Shop owners, Virendra Vishwanath Tandulwadkar, and other suspects, Bandu Janu Bodekar, had been arrested and returned in forest custody for three days after being produced in front of the court on Wednesday.
In the attack in stores located across the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) building in Kolhapur by the Ministry of Forestry earlier this month, prohibited products are worth the crores rupee confiscated.
The Ayurvedic shop in Sangli Regency and Satara was also raided and several arrests had been made in cases to store animal remains illegally prohibited under a schedule of 1,2,3 and 4 of the wildlife protection law.
The confiscated material also includes Indrajal, Laut Laut.
Previously, the Warden Wildlife Honor from Satara, Rohan Bhate, alleged that the foresters did not take action against the shop owner.
A senior forest officer has assured that the investigation is active and all legal actions will be taken.
