Chennai: Temple of Triplicane Sri Parthasarathy in Chennai has received 20,800 kg of gold jewelry and 26.714 kg silver as an offer from worshipers in the past 10 years, said a statement from Religion and Hindu Amal (HR & CE).
As per the announcement of the SDM & CE Minister P K Sekar Babu in the Assembly, the authorities will send small gold jewelry to the refinery that the government has in Mumbai to melt and turn it into a bar.
They will be stored in nationalization banks to generate income to take Thirupani in temples, their release.
This department has formed three teams led by retired Supreme Court Judges and Madras High Court to oversee the process of separating jewelry, adding release.
