Thiruvananthapuram: a pleasant trip by three friends to the forest which ended with a tragedy after one of them accidentally drowned on the river.
The accident occurred in Chavakkal below the boundary of the Vithura police station.
Ashiq, 20, Putra Kabir and Sheeja from Shafek Manzil, Attention near Chullimanoor is the deceased.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 2:30 p.m.
The three friends tried to cross the Kallarian tributaries in Chavakkal to reach the forest area on the other side by jumping onto the rock formation on the river.
Allegedly that Ashiq slipped and fell into the river.
Even though his friends tried to save him, they failed.
His body recovered one hour later after the search was made by local and fires and rescue.
Ashiq was accompanied by his friends Ahsan and Jassy.
They told the police that they suggested to Ashiq that they could cross the river through shallow portions.
But he insisted on across the river from the place itself.
After this, the Duo left it there and walked a few meters down to downstream where the river was relatively lacking.
They feel the danger when they see Ashiq footwear floating downstream.
They rushed to the previous place and one of them jumped into the waters, but could not reach Asiq.
The police said the place where the accident occurred was not a tourist area.
