Lucknow: New participants for Congress and JNU Popular Alumnus Kanhaiya Kumar were taken in surprise on the way to the Congress office in Lucknow on Tuesday when a young man threw some liquid to him.
While Congress members alleged that the young man poured acid on Kanhaiya’s face, the police said it seemed ink.
A star campaign for Congress in polls, Kumar was in the state capital to campaign for various candidates.
Eyewitnesses said the young man came out from nowhere and joined a supporting crowd to execute his plan.
“What he spilled seemed to be a kind of sour when those who were close to Kanhaiya Kumar complained about burning sensations and itching in the eyes,” said a congress who along with other people grabbed the young man and handed it to the police.
A Congressman said two people were injured in the process.
ACP Hazratganj, Akhilesh Singh, said the young man was identified as Devansh Bajpai, a resident of Chowk.
“A Challan has been issued for a bajpai because of a violation of peace because there are no formal complaints given by anyone,” Singh said.
Devansh TiFol Police he did not like Kanhaiya Kumar’s words who always talked about the division of the country, said ACP.
Police said Devansh was not a member of any political clothing and pursued LLB from college affiliated Lu in Malihabad.
However, Congress workers accused Devansh is a member of the BJP Student Body – Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
Not affected by the incident, Kanhaiya continued its program.
“BJP behaves like the Eastern Indian company in pre-independent India.
Congress will overthrow them by the way the Grand Old Party sent England back,” he made no mention of the incident.
