Gurgaon: A young man has been arrested for creating a group of Whatsapp Transporters from Gurgaon, Rewari and Narnaul and sharing the location of the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) to help the last pass the checkpoint and avoid paying a penalty for vehicles overloading.
Manesar-Resident Balraj, said the police, along with some of his colleagues had a team of RTO officials in his Scorpio car and shared their location in the Paid WhatsApp group.
The young man was arrested on January 25 by the Pawan Kumar Inspector team, Sandeep Pasad Sub-Inspector, Sukhbir Constable and Sunil Kumar driver who reached the Billaspur Chowk in the official RTO vehicle to check out the freeway in Delhi-Jaipur.
The team saw a Scorpio car (Registration No.
HR26 EQ 6966) followed its official vehicle and intercepted and Narnaul where he shared the location of RTO officials from each district for money.
That information, police said, used by group members to the police avoided the checkpoint.
Somes later registered at the Bilalaspur Police Station under the Indian Criminal Code section 186 (blocking each public servant in the disposal of its public function), 332 (injured in anyone who became a public servant in disposal of his duties) and 353 (attacks or used criminal powers to anyone who became a civil servant) against Balraj, police spokesman Subhash Benken said.
The police also tried to ascertain whether RTO employees conveyed information to the defendant.
