Thiruvananthapuram: The Museum Police here on Thursday arrested a man who was sought for kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old little girl.
Police identified charges as Rahul, 24, Chovvara near Vizhinjam.
Museum Station House Officer Inspector P S Dharmajith said that the case in this case was registered two weeks ago.
Victims of rape lived below the museum police station limit.
This case was registered after the girl’s parents complained that she was lost.
After the probe, the defendant and the girl were found in a house near Chovvara.
The accusation had lured the girl and convinced him to marry him.
After a medical examination, it was revealed that the girl was exploited sexually.
Based on this finding, the police requested a relevant part for rape under the protection of children from the acts of sexual violations (Pocso).
The defendant had a similar case that was delayed in the Neytattinkara Museum and Police Station to kidnap the same girl and sexually exploited her in the past too.
The defendant was arrested by a team led by Inspector P S Dharmajith with the help of Vizhinjam police led by Prajeesh Sasi Inspector.
