Thiruvananthapuram: Police Nedumangad on Wednesday registered a case and launched the probe after a 18-year-old young man was reportedly kidnapped and beaten by the four member gang.
The police have also taken two suspects to become custody.
However, their arrest has not been recorded.
The police said that the incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m.
on Wednesday.
The complainant, Abdul Malik, was kidnapped by a gang in the car from a poultry shop in Azhikode near Nedumangad where the former work part time.
He was beaten mercilessly in the car during the trip.
Inspector added that the cause of the attack was allegedly competitive between families.
Meanwhile, Malik’s relatives said that kidnapping and attack could be the wrong case of identity.
Two suspects in this case were siblings who had a furniture shop in Azhikode.
A few days ago there were clashes in their stores between two groups of men.
People who attacked Malik might incorrectly assume that the latter was involved in a group that invaded their store and released violence.
